FAQ

What is this blog about?

This is a pride flag blog for those that fall under the MOGAI acronym and beyond.

We make pride flags for orientations and genders, alterhuman identities (therians/otherkin/etc.), neurodiversity and chronic illness, and many other identities!

Why did you make this blog?

Although I certainly love the work of pride flag blogs on this site, I disagree with some of the limitations they have set. So I originally made this blog for people who don’t have flags and can’t get one from other flag blogs. However, now we fulfill requests for many different identities!

Is this a troll/joke/fake blog?

No. And any asks like this will be deleted.

I hate your blog/Your blog is insulting to the community/I have some very strong opinions I want to bother you with

This is not a debate or discourse blog. If you don’t like my blog, you can block it or just ignore it. This is first and foremost a resource for those want a pride flag for their identity. If you send any asks like this, it is possible I may respond if they are respectful, but will most likely be deleted.

I sent you an ask for a pride flag request but I don’t see that you responded

It either got eaten by Tumblr, or your ask was thought to be a troll request and deleted. If you see that I didn’t respond to your ask and you think it was a mistake, you can most certainly send another one, this time maybe explaining your reasoning on why you think this orientation/gender/etc. needs a pride flag from us.

What would make it more likely that my request will be accepted?

If the term is on a MOGAI term site (like mogai-archive used to be), or if I can look it up on a Google, you have a greater chance of having your request taken on. But it’s okay if it isn’t! I just need a bit more detail if it’s a term you personally coined.

I don’t like this term and/or flag. Can I submit an alternative?

You sure can! I encourage you to do so.

Do you coin terms?

We personally do not coin terms. We either find the terms online or they are submitted.

Can I coin my own term?

Yes!

Do you make all the flags?

Not all of them, some of them we either find or are submitted to the blog.

Can I make my own flag?

Of course!

I’m not sure what my orientation/gender/etc. is. Can I ask you for some help in figuring it out?

Sure, I can certainly do my best!

Can I ask you for LGBT+/MOGAI related advice?

This isn’t an advice blog, so I wouldn’t recommend it. I can help point you in the direction of some helpful resources though!

You said you’d make a flag, but you haven’t posted it yet…?

I’m so sorry! We’re often pretty busy, so I do ask for your patience. If I said that we’ll get to it, we will definitely get to it eventually.

Is this an aro/ace/a-spec/aro-spec positive blog?

Yup!

Is this an m-spec positive blog?

Yup!

Is this blog for those who have sexual/romantic/etc. orientations that don’t align with each other (split-attraction model)?

Yup!

Is this blog for those who are non-binary?

Yup!

What about if my gender is seen as “strange” or “not real” or is a xenogender?

Yup!

So, what, you don’t like binary trans people or lesbian and gay people?

Of course we do, wtsf. All under the LGBT+/MOGAI community (and beyond!) are welcome here.

What about therians/otherkin/otherhearted/ect.?

Yup!

How about neurodivergent or chronically ill people?

Absolutely!

Do you make combo flags?

We do!

What won’t you make?

We will not do anything related to pedophilia or zoophilia.

And, although we aren’t anti-kink or anti-fetish, there are other flag blogs specifically tailored to making flags for those. You should ask them to make any flags related to that. This blog does its best to be SFW.

What about flags for heterosexual or cisgender people?

Regardless of your stance on these flags, there are already ones made for these. We will be willing to make combo flags that include these flags as long as they’re included with other flags (ex: heterosexual transgender, heterosexual biromantic cisgender, heteromantic asexual, cisgender otherkin, etc.)

This isn’t LGBT+/MOGAI!

Everyone has their own idea on who belongs in the “community”. Whether this or that falls under whichever acronym you use is personal opinion and rather arbitrary at this point. Regardless, this blog is for many different groups of identities, not just LGBT+/MOGAI. The name of the blog IS Beyond MOGAI afterall.

What if I have a question not covered on the FAQ?
